What we do
ShopRank is an e-commerce market intelligence and sales data platform built by Mateusz Rzepa. Our web discovery and classification pipeline identifies active online stores and adds observed platform, payment, carrier, category, technology and contact signals. Coverage varies by field and market. A missing payment or carrier signal means we did not detect it, not that the merchant does not use it.
The result is a searchable intelligence layer covering 8 million verified, active e-commerce stores across 340+ platforms in 195+ countries.
ShopRank.com is not a Shopify app or store-ranking plugin. It is an independent e-commerce market intelligence platform. Teams use it to find verified stores, understand market share, enrich account lists, and build API-driven e-commerce data workflows.
How we're different
A platform install alone does not establish that a website is an active store. Our published WooCommerce study found that more than 56% of classifiable domains in that sample were not functioning stores. The result describes that study, not a permanent rate for every market.
Our classification pipeline combines website content and technology signals to identify active stores selling physical products. Classification does not verify a completed purchase, a working checkout or a commercial relationship with a detected provider.
The data
Store profiles can include website URL, platform, product categories, detected payments and carriers, technology stack, public web visibility, first-seen indicators, country, language and business contacts. Returned fields depend on your plan. Merchant-size scores and bands are Enterprise fields; cross-border and VAT fields require Premium or Enterprise.

Built from scratch
ShopRank has been tracking the e-commerce landscape since 2017. What started as a platform detection project has grown into a full-scale market intelligence operation - running a 300M+ monthly production crawl, custom AI classifiers, and terabytes of web data processing.
The crawl, classifiers and enrichment pipeline are built in-house. We combine our own web observations with public datasets and modelled classifications. Sources include Common Crawl, Chrome UX Report and company information sources; modelled merchant-size bands are distinct from reported financial figures.
